Product Design and Development

From a fully equipped technical center, VCT provides a full range of product development and testing services. We leverage our software technologies and physical testing methodologies to reduce costs, shorten development cycles and deliver the highest quality products.

Product Design and Development

VCT's five-phase design and development process ensures that the solutions we provide meet all of our customer's performance criteria. Our five phase process is outlined below.

Concept
A drawing of the concept is rendered utilizing Computer-Aided Design (CAD).

Mathematical Modeling
A virtual prototype is created utilizing Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) software and the functionality of the prototype is analyzed.

Mathmatical Validation and Optimization
Different variables are tested and the design is optimized. Variables tested might include weight reduction or simulation of load to understand durability.

Prototype
A physical prototype is created in-house utilizing quick prototype technology.

Concept
The physical prototype is tested on an engine (engine simulation system), on the actual automobile (chassis dynamometer system) or by itself (fatigue testing) to determine if it behaves as expected.
In the rare event that the prototype does not behave as expected, the virtual prototype is adjusted and optimized and another physical prototype is created.
